"LA based production company, AKLA, teamed up with legendary hip hop duo, EPMD to launch a project for charity, “The EPMD Logo Project.” Created in the wake of New York’s graffiti movement, EPMD’s logo is one of the most recognized in the world of hip hop. Artists from all over the world were asked to create their own interpretations of the iconic EPMD logo and create a poster. The posters were auctioned off at release party for EPMD’s album “We Mean Business.” Portions of the proceeds earned from each event will go to benefit Brooklyn New York based charity Groundswell Community Mural Project.

Go Media was asked to participate in the event and Adam Law and myself came up with two different concepts. Adam focused on paying homage to old school electronics from the group’s heyday and combined it with a top notch airbrush style type treatment. For my contribution, I wanted to focus on the duo itself, so I drew portraits of Erick Sermon and Parrish Smith and put them inside of their own logo. We were ecstatic about being asked to participate in this unique opportunity for renowned urban artists to pay homage to, and collaborate with, one of the most legendary Hip Hop Recording groups of all time."
